The ECOS Academy is an educational program aiming to teach the basics of extracorporeal organ support (ECOS) in critically ill patients. The scientific content will be delivered in the form of four live webinars with specific themes (See scientific program below). 
In addition, the best five attendees, selected on the basis of a post course test, will be invited to participate to the ECOS Meeting in Croatia and contribute to a review paper on the topic. 
Target audience: Critical care fellows, junior physicians/specialists, nurses/technicians from all around the world (by the age of 35).

Post Course Evaluation

Following the webinars, participants will be invited to take a test to evaluate their newly acquired knowledge on ECOS. This test will consist of 50 MCQs.

Questions will be related to the delivered lectures and prepared by the faculty who presented the lecture. All questions will be reviewed and selected by the organization committee.

​To obtain a „ISCCN ECOS Academy“ accreditation, a minimum rate of correct responses (of 70%) is required. In addition, the five best scoring participants are eligible for a „golden ticket“ (see below). ISCCN membership is valid for one year.

Golden tickets

 The five best scoring participants will be: invited at the next Internationl Conference on Organ Support (ICEOS) in Dubrovnik (23.-26.4.2025) (including accomodation and registration but not transportation). During the ICEOS meeting, they will be invited to attend specific lectures on „how to write a scientific paper“.

Group based workshop under the supervision of the organizing committee members will be organized from 22.-23.4.2025 (the day before and on the first day of the ICEOS meeting). During these workshops, attendees will be expected to:

1. to choose and prepare the topic of interest in the field of ECOS before the meeting

2. perform a literature search and

3. Propose the structure of a review paper on the topic.

At the end of the ICEOS meeting, they will have the opportunity to present the result of their work to the meeting participants. After the meeting, they will have 3-4 weeks to produce a draft of the review. This review will be critically read and edited by the organizing committee and submitted for publication (Blood Purification Journal).
